ScotSafe Transport Ltd (company number SC852248) is the data controller for the personal data described below. Last reviewed: 2026.
1. Who we are

2. What data we process
- Referring professionals: name, role, agency, work email, phone number and the content of your enquiry.
- Children and young people: where a journey proceeds, first name or initials, age, collection and destination settings, support needs, risk information, medical and communication needs, and a factual record of the journey.
- Website visitors: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security only. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Lawful basis
For referral and journey data our lawful basis is public task and legitimate interests in supporting a statutory care function, together with Article 9(2)(b) and 9(2)(h) UK GDPR for special category data such as health and safeguarding information. Data is shared with us by the referring agency under its own statutory duties.
4. How we use it
Solely to risk-assess, plan, staff, deliver and report on a journey, to meet our safeguarding obligations, and to respond to inspection, complaint or legal requirements. We do not use it for marketing and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
5. Retention
Enquiries that do not lead to a journey are deleted within 6 months. Journey records are kept for 6 years from the date of the journey, in line with expectations for care and safeguarding records, then securely destroyed.
6. Your rights
You have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure where applicable, restriction of processing, and to object to processing. Requests go to the contact above. Where a request relates to a child we will liaise with the referring agency as appropriate.
7. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Security
The site is served over TLS. Referral submissions are transmitted encrypted and delivered to a named on-call practitioner. We ask referrers not to enter a child's full name or address into the web form. Identifying detail is taken by phone.
